Gulf Medical was founded in 1983 to bring innovative state-of-the-art medical technologies to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. The company also plays an active part in developing the skills of leading medical practitioners, particularly in the fields of Cardiovascular; Critical Care and Anaestheology, Haemodialysis; Endoscopy & Robotic Surgery.
This commitment to technology transfer is radically different to the majority of medical suppliers in the Middle East, and has led to many awards and recognitions, including an award for International Technical Service Centre of the Year, presented at the American Society of Anaesthesiologists Conference in USA.
Acquired by the Group in 1992, Gulf Medical organises conferences & workshops themselves, such as the Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery conference at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital; regularly attends and contributes to worldwide 'Meet the Experts' seminars; and has developed links with international organisations and research centres such as the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, EACTS and others. These and other continuous efforts are made to maintain Gulf Medical's knowledge at the very forefront of the medical profession.
The company's dedicated team of professionals is a highly educated multilingual workforce consisting of biomedical engineers and health care specialists.
Gulf Medical maintains relationships with many medical technology equipment manufacturers, who have seen their annual sales in Saudi Arabia, grow substantially.
Gulf Medical has a history of pushing forward leading-edge medical standards in the region providing equipment and support for the first valvuloplasty and angioplasty procedures in the region, establishing three electrophysiology centres of excellence in Saudi Arabia, introducing the first OR-1 in the Area, as well as installing & commissioning the first Robotic Surgery suite in the Middle East.
Though Saudi Arabia represents more than 50% of the Gulf market for these medical innovations, Gulf Medical has a region-wide portfolio. It has offices and operations in Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates & plans to open in Oman & Kuwait. The company therefore has the technical expertise and geographical reach to sell and install medical supplies and equipment to private and public hospitals and medical centres throughout the Gulf.
