With the change of transportation regulations for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims at the end of the 1990s, coupled with the availability of the new generation of cost effective vehicles. The Yousuf M.A.Naghi & Sons Group saw the business potential for a well managed operational bus company that could offer a fleet of modern and comfortable buses.
In 1998 the Hafil Transportation Company was formed with an initial fleet of 800 buses customised for Hajj and Umrah Pilgrims.
Since that time numerous other types of vehicles have been added to the Hafil fleet ranging from Luxury Pullman coaches through to inner-city buses, taxi vans, and also specifically customised Hajj buses
Although Hajj and Umrah transportation remains the backbone of Hafil Transport’s operations, the company has diversified and extended its area of activities and now provides a range of bus and coach services, from school and workers contract bussing to long-distance coaching services to points and countries outside of the kingdom.
A recent development has been recently won contract from the Ministry of Education to provide bus services for girls’ schools & colleges in various regions throughout the kingdom.
This has resulted in the addition of numerous new buses and now Hafil has over 8,000 modern well-serviced vehicles making it one of the largest bus companies in the Gulf. Apart from the new buses a brand new purpose built large operation centre in Shumaisy (nr. Makkah) plus other depots and offices in Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah and Riyadh together with a fully equipped workshop and service centres.Hafil is now one of the largest bus companies not only in the kingdom but also in the region.
